Peter Freedman Founder and President
As the founder and president of
the firm, Peter is responsible for
the operations of the company,
developing new business and
expanding its client base both on an
individual and corporate level. With
more than 19 years experience, he
continues to focus on consulting
with his existing and prospective
clients.
Peter began his insurance career in
South Africa working for Liberty
Life Association of Africa for five
years. In this short period, Peter
received many prestigious awards. In
1993 Peter immigrated to Canada and
worked as an independent broker from
1993 to 2000. He built his client
base through diligent effort, a
strong work ethic and prompt
efficient customer service. In 2000,
with the support of his clients,
Peter established Peter Freedman
Life Insurance. During his quick
growth, he has been able to attract
some of the industries’ best
professionals.
Peter is a member of numerous
industry associations including: The
Independent Life Insurance Brokers
of Canada and the Canadian
Association of Insurance and
Financial Advisors. Additionally,
Peter is a licensed Level Two life
Insurance broker and devotes
significant time to life insurance
academics.

Susan Ortins – Executive
Administrative Assistant
As an Executive administrative
assistant, Susan has the dual role
of acting as Peter’s personal
assistant and also managing the
individual life’s new business
processing and policy servicing
functions for the firm. Her numerous
responsibilities, include:
processing new business; handling
underwriting requirements; as well
as providing policy and coverage
summaries. Additionally Susan
liaises with the firm’s clients to
ensure maximum client satisfaction.
Susan lends her invaluable
assistance to selective brokers.
Susan has 21
years experience in all aspects of
new business processing,
underwriting, policy service,
customer service for a regional
brokerage office, and insurance
company liaison functions. Susan
initially gained her extensive
administrative experience with 11
years at a large Toronto based
national brokerage operation. She
has acted as Peter’s executive
assistant for the past
8 years.
Susan’s exceptional life insurance
administrative and organizational
skills, lets her excel in the high
pressure, deadline driven,
transaction intensive customer
focused environment of the brokerage
office.

Debra Aronson – Senior

Debra began her career in
insurance and financial services in
1990. As a Senior Insurance Advisor
to Peter Freedman Insurance Brokers,
Debra specializes in providing life,
disability, mortgage and critical

long-term care coverage to her
clients.
With more than 17
years of experience, Debra brings
added value to its many clients

services needs.

Corporation (MGA) for almost seven
years.
She has attained her

is a long-time member of the

association. She has earned her
Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Adrienne Sacks – Director, Group
Benefits
As Director of the company's
group benefits division, Adrienne is
responsible for
maintaining the company's
relationships with its group
employee benefits clients,
obtaining new clients as well
as ensuring the company's currency
with new
products targeted to the benefits
market. In addition, Adrienne
ensures product
analyses complies with our
company's high standards and extends
these
findings to our expanding client
roster.
We understand our
client's needs and work together to
find solutions that best
suits them and their
employees. Given the importance of
offering group benefits
to their employees we keep
our clients abreast of new products
coming into
the
market; new ideas with respect to
plan designs as well as legislative
issues.
A number of
independent brokers also consult and
do joint work with her.
Adrienne enjoys an
excellent reputation with her group
carriers and supporting
brokers as a result of her
high integrity and knowledge of the
group benefits
industry.
An insurance
industry veteran, Adrienne has 20
years group benefits
administration, support and
management experience in Canada. She
initially
worked for 12 years for Matthews
Posner &Associates, a successful
life
insurance brokerage, who sold out to
a publicly traded insurance
brokerage in
1999. In 2000 Adrienne headed
up their group department for a year
before
leaving to join Peter Freedman Life
insurance Brokers in March 2001 to
head up
their group department.
Prior to coming to
Canada Adrienne worked for Liberty
Life Association of
Africa
Ltd in South Africa for 12
years rising through the ranks to a
managerial
level.
Adrienne is a member
in good standing of the Independent
Financial Brokers
of
Canada and is a Level Two Licensed
Insurance Broker.

Yoschika
Ramballie Administrative Assistant
As an Administrative Assistant –
Group Benefits, Yoschika plays a key
role in providing clients as well as
brokers with superior customer
service and support. Yoschika
assists the Director, Group Benefits
in obtaining quotations for clients
and creating group benefits packages
to suit clients’ individual needs.
Most importantly Yoschika acts as a
liaison with insurance carriers to
ensure clients’ day to day claims
and group administration processes
operate smoothly. Having joined the
company in 2002, Yoschika continues
to grow within the industry. Prior
to joining the company Yoschika
worked for the Hudson’s Bay Company
as the Department Head of their
ladies designer fashions division.
Yoschika graduated from the
University of Toronto with her
Bachelor of Arts Degree with a
double major in Psychology and
Sociology.

Representative

representative, Lorie is responsible
for assisting Adrienne Sacks with

with current clients. She also acts

industry veteran, Lorie has more
than 30 years experience in group
benefits administration, support and
management. Before joining Peter
Freedman Life Insurance Brokers
Ltd., she worked for Ontario Blue
Cross / Liberty Health and Empire
Life with increasingly senior
responsibilities including billings,
claims and auditing.
Lorie has earned her
LOMA designation -- Associate
Customer Service (ACS).

Zavel Sacks Director, Marketing and Sales Support
As director of the companys special markets and case coordination function, Zavel is responsible for special projects and quotations, marketing concepts, and administrative support. Prior to joining the company, Zavel was employed in the executive search industry in a variety of research roles. After settling in Canada, Zavel worked as a stockbroker and later sold life insurance for three years. He is level 2 licensed. In South Africa Zavel spent more than a decade working in life insurance brokerage development for NedEquity Life and Guarantee Life. Zavel has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and an MBA.

Bala Naidoo – Senior Manager – Operations
Bala Naidoo has more that two
decades of financial services
experience with a specialty in
international trade finance. In
January of 2007, Bala was asked to
join the team at Peter Freeman Life
Insurance Brokers to use his strong
background in financial services
combined with his interpersonal and
diplomatic skills to bring added
value to the firm’s clients.
Before joining Peter
Freedman Life, he was Senior Manager
Trade Finance and Compliance with
Scotiabank where he managed the
trade finance credit and compliance
team. The success of the team was a
major factor in the Bank being
nominated "Canada's Best Trade
Finance Bank" by Global Finance
Magazine in 2005 and the strategic
business alliance between Export
Development Corporation and the
bank.
Bala has earned many
academic achievements and
designations and is currently
enrolled in a MBA (FS) program with
Dalhousie University in Halifax,
Nova Scotia.

Royal LePage Real Estate Services
and Shoppers Drug Mart. In addition
to providing the company with
administrative services, Meena
excels in providing support for the
company’s brokers.
